A great big thank you to all who came out this weekend to our trunk show with our friend and jewelry designer extraordinaire Vicente Agor! Yes, Mother Nature was in a bad mood this weekend, but we had a great time and, more importantly, raised money AND awareness for organ and tissue donation. Vicente is the recipient of a double-transplant and shared his inspiring personal story during an artist reception on Friday night. Our (Max’s and Vicente’s) original plan was to donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of his jewelry over the 3-day weekend event to LifeSource, a non-profit organ and tissue donation organization, the University Transplant Assistance Fund at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview and University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital. It took us about 25 nano-seconds to agree that it would be kind of silly to limit it to sales just from the weekend event, so we will continue to donate the same (20%) proceeds from the sale of his work through the end of 2010!
