Amedei chocolate is crafted in Pontedera Tuscany by Cecilia Tessieri the first female maître (master) chocolatier in the world. Her chocolate is known and loved worldwide for its smooth texture and full-bodied flavor. Tessieri comes from a long line of confectioners and has won numerous awards worldwide including the Chocolate Academy of London's prestigious 'Golden Bean' award four times.

Cecilia started Amedei in 1990 when she began her search for the finest cacao beans in the world traveling the globe to find cocoa varieties that are cultivated to retain the aromatic character of their indigenous region. After seven years of testing and of implementing the strictest ethical and humanitarian standards for the plantations she chose Tessieri produced the first chocolate bars carrying the name 'Amedei' in 1998. She maintains complete supervision over its production process from bean to bar. Amedei now offers meticulously crafted Cru bars from Venezuela Grenada Jamaica Madagascar Trinidad Ecuador and Peru' as well as its popular blends pralines and drinking chocolate.
