Femmes de Virunga is a project born from the desire of Hilde de Beule and Original Beans to transform the destiny of women in the North Kivu region of Congo, plagued by numerous civil wars. Thanks to the development of an organic cocoa and agroforestry sector, this project now provides work and education for women in this region. It also participates in the preservation of the magnificent Virunga National Park which is home to the last mountain gorillas.
This chocolate is beautifully complex with notes of dried bananas, spices, blond tobacco and a slight bitterness.
